What if we had perfect vision of how God sees us?

Seeing 20/20 is such a blessing. Even having corrected vision to 20/20 is a blessing, isn't it? But what happens when we have the ability to see, but choose not to? What happens when we read in God's Word that we are unconditionally loved, and still fill our mind with self-hate?

What of the promises given by God that we refuse to see because they didn't come wrapped as we expected?

What do we do with verses like 2 Corinthians 3:5 that tells us our adequacy is from God, and yet we live with the mindset that we will never be good enough?

In 2020, my prayer is that our vision will be corrected to the perfect vision of what God intended us to have! May we begin to live the life He designed for us, in a way that brings Him glory. May we grow exponentially in our walk with Him, and allow our thoughts to be transformed, as we renew our mind from the worldly thinking around us to godly thinking above us!

May we be in the Word enough to believe the Word enough that we recognize that in Christ Jesus we are enough, so that we can develop 20/20 vision in 2020.

TRUTH #1 - Seeing His Love Clearly

So many scriptures speak of God's love for us. John 3:16 being the most well known:

"For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

And we hear that and think of God in the grander scheme of things, loving all. But, do we believe it on the more personal, intimate level that God loves you? Did you know that if you were the only one that needed a Savior He would have still sent one? For you? I hope you know the truth of that.

There's the passage in Romans 8:37-39 that talks about how we have been justified before God because of Jesus who died for our sins, out of His great love. Look at these verses:

"But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,

nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth,

nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God,

which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Such sweet promises! NOTHING can separate you from His love. Nothing you can do, nothing that comes against you. His love supersedes everything that you know in this world and beyond. He has made you a conqueror by His love.

We may not understand how He could love us, or why He would choose to love someone so fallible. But His love is unconditional, a love that only and always seeks the best for the one loved. Regardless of how we treat Him, or respond to Him, He loves. We certainly have a hard time loving that way, don't we?

He loves because it's in His DNA. It's who God is. It's not something He has to work at, or figure out how to best love someone, God just loves because He IS Love! Jesus is the proof. His Spirit is the reminder.

So, what makes it hard to believe in His love for you?

What is in your life that you wonder if it might make Him love you less?

As we set about to correct our vision during 2020, I hope you will see more clearly how much God truly loves You. It's out of your control. He just does, because that's who He is.

Father God, full of love and grace, praise You for having the characteristic of love in Your very being. We could have had a Creator who was cruel, who knew nothing of love, but praise You, that was not the case. You love us so much that You went to extraordinary lengths to have a relationship with us. Fallible as we are. Cruel as we can be. You love us. Thank You that nothing can separate us from that love when we are in Christ Jesus. What a blessing and a promise. Helps us to clearly see Your love in 2020 as we seek to know You more. In Christ I ask, Amen
